Yeah, one after another. As opposed to running them manually one at a time.

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for the update.

What do you mean by several generations "at once"? Do you mean one after another?

Follow-up:
The C-wrapper has been compiled for both the Fortran executable and C-executable and both have been copied into /var/lib/boinc/suboinc/apps/extCallTest and var/lib/boinc/suboinc/apps/extCTest respectively. All necessary files for execution are contained therein.

One more thing; it should also be noted I had to edit crontab with sudo crontab -e to include the line:
0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55 * * * * HOME/projects/PROJECT/bin/start --cron

This is used so that the ./start --cron command runs every five minutes to check to see if new tasks should be run.

Rather than running make_work as a daemon, I have found it is better to run it as a task so that it can be called periodically allowing you to not have to put astronomical numbers in for the max_wus. This is still done by editing config.xml. In the tasks section, you would write something to the effect of

<task>

<cmd>

make_work -wu_name uc_nodelete -cushion 50 -max_wus 500

</cmd>

<period>

30 minutes

</period>

<disabled>

0

</disabled>

</task>

These XML tags are pretty self-explanatory, but for further reading, see this page on the BOINC Trac. In order to make sure the server is running your periodic tasks, you must call ./start --cron from the bin.

Source code for the writing a BOINC app can be found on Sylow at "/var/lib/boinc/src". "uc2.c" in the "win_build" folder of "boinc_samples" contains the main function that can be edited to suit your algorithmic needs. :)
